Sh-peg-nhs can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials or small molecules. NHS reacts with primary amine groups at ph7-8.5 to form stable amide bonds, and maleimide and sulfhydryl groups at pH6.5 5-7.5 it is easy to form stable sulfide bonds, and mercaptan groups have high affinity for gold surface, which are widely used in the modification of gold nanoparticles or gold films.
