Hydroxy polyethylene glycol active ester (ho-peg-nhs) is a polyethylene glycol derivative with hydroxyl and active ester. Hydroxyl can react with carboxyl, and active ester can react with primary amine to form stable amide bond. PEGylation can improve the stability of PEG biomolecules and reduce their immunogenicity. It can also inhibit the nonspecific binding between charged molecules and modified surfaces.
